We went to the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, and all in all it was a good explore day.

I really did enjoy seeing the exhibits, but the museum felt a little piece meal to me. I tend to enjoy deep dives into particular topics, where you can sink into one subject and follow it all the way down. This museum was more of a sampler: a little bit of this, a little bit of that, lots of interesting stops, but not always the kind of focused rabbit hole I like best.

That said, the dinosaur exhibit had a pretty good layout. You walked through from life’s creation toward the modern day, almost timeline style. It gave the whole thing a direction instead of just being a room full of skeletons. That part worked for me, and it made the exhibit more interesting than a simple greatest-hits dinosaur hall.

I hated the Changing Landscapes exhibit. It was billed as a historical look at shifting geology, which sounded like exactly the sort of thing I would be into, but it came off more like climate change politics than geology. Not my favorite stop.

Still, it was worth the trip. Some exhibits landed better than others, but there was enough there to make it a solid day out exploring Denver.
